We are currently recruiting for a Metering Surveyor on a permanent basis, this is an exciting position within the metering team and will be a technical customer facing role.

 

What will you be doing?

In this varied field-based role, you’ll be out and about in our supply area carrying out site surveys, both external and internal, and installing water meters where possible.

 

Day to day you’ll be…

  • Visiting customer premises to survey their water supply to determine the most appropriate location to fit a meter
  • Engaging with customers
  • Where possible, fitting meters in existing stop-tap boxes
  • Carrying out water supply route checks
  • Tracing underground pipes and utilities using a Cat & Genny equipment
  • Using mobile technology to update job information to provide an accurate record of what work has been carried out on site
  • Where follow-up work is required, providing accurate information and direction
  • Provide assistance and advice to contractors as necessary, particularly in the location of existing water supplies
  • Attending Team meetings and 1 to 1’s

 

What we’re looking for...

We need someone who has a positive, customer focussed mindset and desire and commitment to develop. You will need to be comfortable working on your own and as part of a great remote team. 

All the other training you’ll need to progress within the role will be provided.

  • A full U.K Driving Licence is essential
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Good level of fitness and the role has some physical elements
  • Excellent customer service skills, with effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with basic software packages
  • Hardworking and self-motivated, with the ability to build trust & learn new skills
  • Flexible team player with excellent time management
  • Knowledge and appreciation of operational health and safety
